With the loss of travelers, many stations on the Jeongseon Line switched to non-manned operations; Jeongseon Station is the only station to maintain staff. Despite losing population, Jeongseon has maintained popularity due to its history as the birthplace of Korea's folk song, Arirang, and for Jeongseon Traditional Market, held every weekend.
