Nosongjeong Head House is located in Dosan-myeon, Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and is famous as the birthplace of Toegye Yi Hwang. This 560-year-old house was built by Yi Hwang's grandfather Yi Gye-yang in the 2nd year of King Danjong’s reign during the Joseon dynasty. Yi Hwang was born in the house in 1501, and the room has since been referred to as Toegye-taesil. The main building has a square structure with a yard in the center. Toegye-taesil is decorated in a unique way in the shape of a castle by covering three sides of the square center with guardrails. The Nosongjeong stands straight to the east of the main building, and a shrine stands on the right. Nosongjeong Head House has a total of seven guest rooms: master bedroom, living room, library, study, veranda, big annex and small annex. The master bedroom, library and study have a bathroom inside. The veranda includes two large rooms and an open space. The bathroom and shower are outside. Guests staying in the living room, and big and small annexes also have to use the bathroom outside the building. Nearby are historic sites such as Dosanseowon Confucian Academy, Cheongnyangsa Temple, Yongsusa Temple, and Gungmangbong Peak. It is also accessible to The Korean Studies Institute, Yi Yuksa Literary Museum, and Gyeongsangbuk-do Forest Science Museum.
